Denys O’Keefe, Environmental Specialist, City of Calgary. Denys is an Environmental Specialist with the City of Calgary who implements and maintains an environmental management system under ISO 14001:2015, aimed to continually improve the environmental performance of Calgary’s Water Utility; this includes Calgary’s drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Through liaising with regulators and managing various environmental incidents, his work aims to help better protect our precious water resources.

Denys holds a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Ecology from the University of Calgary, and the Environmental Professional designation. He is currently working through a Masters of Environment and Management from Royal Roads University. Over the past 9 years, he has shifted between a variety of environmental roles with the City of Calgary, spanning from water quality monitoring to environmental engagement.
