Sarah GilbertĀ provides advice to clients on a full range of environmental and health and safety issues, including issues relating to contaminated property, responding to spills and environmental incidents, air (noise) emissions, waste management, sewage and drinking water, and transportation of dangerous goods. Sarah also advises clients on regulatory obligations with respect to matters regulated by the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000 and a range of product regulatory issues.
Sarah helps clients determine the need for, and obtain, environmental approval and permits, including assisting clients with respect to federal and provincial environmental assessments. She helps clients prepare for inspections and investigations by regulatory authorities, as well as civil and administrative proceedings (including orders) relating to environmental liability.
Sarah acts for a range of parties, including buyers, sellers, lenders, investors and underwriters, with respect to environmental matters associated with business transactions, including due diligence and the assessment of liability, and the negotiation and drafting of agreements.
Sarah works for clients across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, real estate, chemicals, energy and natural resources, and agribusiness & food.
